Click Here Schola Adventus from San Francisco, California presents Palestrina for Eight Voices, featuring the first ever recording of the Italian Renaissance master’s great "Missa Confitebor tibi, Domine" and a selection of eight-part motets. Schola Adventus is the resident choir at Church of the Advent of Christ the King, San Francisco’s historic Anglo-Catholic parish. There they have quickly established a reputation as one of the Bay Area’s premier a cappella choral ensembles, specializing in Gregorian Chant and Renaissance polyphony. Paul M. Ellison has been director of music and organist at San Francisco’s historic Church of the Advent of Christ the King since October 1990. There he directs the church’s professional choir Schola Adventus to much acclaim in a comprehensive repertoire of choral music ranging from Gregorian chant to first performances of contemporary works. The emphasis is on unaccompanied Renaissance polyphony. |
